Price on elk?

$6,000.00 for a 330” bull at Circle E ranch out of Bedias, Texas. Lord willing I will be taking our son there next year. Ranch is 3,000 acres.

For probably $10K up here you can buy a Governor's tag and hunt them anywhere in the state... that hard way, the Barta way! LOL

I have often thought about a free range elk hunt in Texas. I have seen some dandies killed out in west Texas.

Never had elk before but hear lots of good things about it. That is my bucket list hunt.

I have found them fairly “cheap”. I found a 5x5 for 1500.00 dollars and a cow for 500.00, but both times I got lucky and found places that were trying to clean the elk off their place. New owners both times and they did not want elk. Gotta be patient and on the lookout to get lucky and find deals like these.

I had elk on my place when I bought it, they are way different than whitetail.
They tear up everything, especially feeders and unlike whitetail you can't spook them off.

Check out Rock Water ranch near Tyler TX. I know its not in south Texas but there lodge is pretty nice and I saw a few elk, axis, fallow, aoudad, rams and a lot of pigs. I'm not sure how big of elk they have though. My buddy ended up shooting a 4X4 elk and I got an aoudad with my bow.
