Looking at our cameras, it looks like we have had some good rains the last few weeks.

For sure! I was down Memorial Day weekend and there was standing water on the ranch and the roads were muddy! Green as can be, feeder pins were full of corn.

It’s rained a lot, and is good and green right now. The bucks at my place are growing nicely. I set up a new blind to try to catch the summertime axis at the water trough, but have not hunted it yet.

Just got back from a run this past weekend. Everything is looking real good. Lots of green stuff. Not hitting the corn real strong right now but the bucks are still on the cotton seed and alfalfa pretty good (alfalfa bale 4-6 days and #300 of cotton seed 8-10 days). Doe's have disappeared from feeder cams which is a good indicator of plenty of natural forage. If we can continue to get the rains well into late July and Aug it will be WONDERFUL. Horns are growing rapidly! Lots of double drops on the doe's this year.

Just got home last night and the place looks really good with all the green stuff. I just hope they keep getting the rain if not it’s going to get really dry in about 30 days. The axis took a hit during the freeze and the one’s that did make it their hours are not very good and are black and brittle. They will bounce back next year once they shed and start new growth.
