    Almost closed the deal...

Well i was invited to a 650ac ranch in wimberly to do some night time hog hunting.

i arrived around 530 and was in stand at about 615. at around 730 i heard hogs about 1/4 mile away. i listened to them grunt and squeil for about two hours. then a noticed movement to the south. in came about 15 pigs. one large boar between 200 and 250 pounds. i finally gives me a quartering away at 22 yards. go to turn on my sight pin light. and nada. left it at the house. i draw back hoping for enuff moon light. nope.... being the ethical hunter i am i called it a night and went home empty handed.

found me light in my daughters toy purse this morning....

lesson learned....check your gear before you hit the field.

Thats where I look for all my gear before every hunt. It's always in one of the three boys rooms.

Thats why I shoot stick bow. If the pig is darker than the ground I can get an arrow low in the dark spot.

your daughter must be about 8 yrs old

sounds like something mine would have done

2 thumbs up for not taking the shot - ethical decision in my book
