I have a 2015 Chevy silverado. It did not come with a backup camera from the factory. I found a place online that sells backup cameras that will replace the tailgate handle and then can be seen on the screen on the dash. I bought it. I installed the camera and used their programmer to make the computer see the backup camera. Well it didn't work. After working with the company for a couple weeks they said to take it to the dealer and have it reset/programmed and they will reimburse me the cost.
Can the dealer reset or reprogram the computer to see the camera? The company said it can because in the glove box it has the proper codes. Does anyone know about how much it will cost to do this? I am thinking worst case and I end up paying for it.
My Chevy guy is awesome, but he is hard to get in touch with so I figured you guys know everything.
