    I have said this many times before, i don't think there is that much money to be saved by building your own pool, not to mention you will have zero control over your subs, zero warranty on the construction, no one to call when the equipment breaks down. Just to give you an example on how we charge for our services, for brushed concrete decking, Builder price is 5.50 a foot, we would charge an owner builder 7.00 a foot, most subs will not work for an owner builder for the same price as a General Contractor who gives them numerous jobs. I have seen many homeowners have a Pool Builder design and spec out a pool and then take those plans and have the pool bid out by the subs, to me that is just wrong, if I were a pool builder i would never leave plans with the homeowner without some kind of deposit, it takes a lot of time to design a pool.
