A kid I went to school with just recently got out of jail,came home and started robbing peoples houses and breaking into cars. After being caught on security camera he thought he was being real slick and went home and posted a selfie on Facebook of himself wearing a ski mask. The same night he got arrested.AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yea, a kid that my son went to HS with in Katy started down that road, somebody took exception to him being in their house and sent him to the morgue.

That's no joke. A lot of times criminals aren't nearly as smart as they think they are. It's not hard to figure them out especially when they're posting this junk on social media letting the whole world know what they're up to. Not very bright.

It doesn't even have to be the cops that see it. Word of mouth from their friends who see it is all it takes.

Yep we had some local kids total a house during a party ( a air b&b rental ) cops made dozens of arrests after it was posted on social media, “ lots of parents saying not my kid till the video proof “

I'd be the opposite. If I knew my kid was at that party or even suspected it I'd say they're guilty until proven innocent. If they got in trouble they'd do what they had to do to get out of it. Too many parents these days back their kids up even when they're in the wrong. I'm not saying don't stand up for your kids but if they're grown up enough to get in trouble they need to be grown up enough to deal with the consequences.

In my opinion that excuse is a cop out. People use that excuse to lay the blame on someone else. I hardly knew my dad growing up. My grandma raised me from the time I was 5 years old. I've never done drugs,stole anything or been in trouble with the law except for traffic tickets which I paid. I quit school and my grandma made me get a job. I've had one ever since. I have my faults and I've made decisions I shouldn't have because I'm human, we all do. But I wouldn't ever lay the blame on my parents. I'm my own person. The decisions I've made whether good or bad were mine.

That's like an alcoholic blaming poor life decisions on an abusive father or whatever. I don't play that, don't believe in it. We all have choices to make every single day. What we decide to do is on us regardless of our past. Life hasn't been easy for me but that's in the past. I don't live there. Right now and every day I live from this point forward is all that matters.

It don't matter to me what your home life was like growing up because if you come into my house with ill intentions you better be armed and you better kill me. I'm not Dr. Phil I ain't gonna sit you down and listen to your problems when you're trying to create more for me to deal with. And that's that.....

I agree, but the crap some parents teach their kids now comes straight from the tv shows. I’m always seeing the “cause and effect” crap on tv programs. You have a criminal and of course they have to tell about his rough childhood. I could tell them a thing or two about growing up dirt poor with a mother that didn’t give a **** about her kids, at least not her sons. Funny thing is we both grew up and became successful by working our butts off. Neither of us finished school but I’ve had a much better life than I deserve when I look back on it. The mistakes I made were my own too, nobody to blame but me, but I did learn and adjusted accordingly.
