    Computer help

    Any TBH’ers work on computers?

My dad sat on my personal laptop & crushed the thing

It’s a 3-4 year old perfectly working Dell that does turn on & screen lights up, also the Dell symbol appears but then that’s it

It has pictures on it that I’d like to recover

    Located in DFW area

    TIA

First thing I'd do is plug it into an external monitor and see if it displays correctly there.

Find out what kinda hdd it has in it and take it out. Odds are you can find an adapter to attach the drive to a USB adapter, plug it in another computer and copy off whatever is lost - On amazon they have a "USB 3.0 to SATA III Adapter Cable with UASP SATA to USB Converter for 2.5" Hard Drives Disk HDD and Solid State Drives SSD " for 8 bucks.

            Bingo. That's the first stop.

              My laptop won't boot.

What did you end up doing to fix yours?

I'm thinking of buying a new one and getting a sata to USB cable to see if I can recover my files.....
