    Bicep tenodesis surgery

I had this procedure done on February 6. So wonder if anybody had the surgery and what the recovery was like. And if and when they were able to resume shooting their bow.

I’m figuring I’ll have to wait until August to start shooting.

I had that surgery along with a torn labrum in my shoulder . They repaired both at the same time . Recovery sucks but it comes around . My advise is take it slow dont over do it . But as far as pulling a bow not a problem I pull 60 lbs . I am not going to tell you that the shoulder is a 100 % but bow hunting is back on

Thanks for the reply man! It’s nice to hear some reassuring words. I had the exact same surgery. My labrum is torn as well. As you very well know I’m going stir crazy right now. How long was it before you were able to shoot your bow? My bow will go down to 40 pounds and I’ll start there(when the doc allows) I’m shooting the Triax and it’s a fairly easy draw.

July 2018 I tore and repaired mine; Distal Tear. I was pulling a bow (70#) back by end of October. Take it slow. Don't rush. Post surgery sucked. Way more pain after surgery than before. A year and half later, I have no pain or complication. Just a couple scars.

I had a proximal (top/shoulder side) biceps tenodesis on April 18 of last year. I was told I could start shooting again after 8 weeks but was not able to draw my bow without some pain at that time. It was around 12 weeks post-op that I was really able to start shooting.

That’s encouraging. I’ll wait 16-20 weeks to be on the safe side.
