I have been running that hull since 2011. my first 25 was hull #3, before they had a cap on them. I've had yamaha 250 SHO, and Yamaha 300's on them and have put chingles of days and hours on them.

It completely, 100% depends on the bottom what the boats will run and get up in. If you're in hard sand, you'll have a hard time getting up in 2'. If you're in mud, you can blow the bottom out, and get up shallower, maybe 18".

in general, it's a max 60-62 MPH boat light loaded. Fully loaded, realistically it's 55-57 with full fuel, and typical load. you can easily fish 4-5 adults out of it, 5-6 if everyone knows what they're going.

I've had mine all over the bays, and up to 45 miles offshore, and only once got puckered up offshore in a weird squall. The boats are basically unsinkable as long as the hull stays intact.

The haynie magnum is a great boat too, but the extreme is a bit shallower, and little more stable when drifting. The haynie magnum will cut the chop better. motor for motor, the extreme is faster too. can't go wrong with either boat.

the absolute worst thing about the majek, is dealing with premiere yamaha if that's where you buy it. They're the worst $*#)_*$_#)$ dealer in texas for bay boats. long wait times for service, an owner who could GAF in general post sale, just overall, a **** dealer. I 100% believe they'd be out of business if it weren't for their contract with Majek. Haynie (chris's marine) is solid as it gets with customer service.

good boat, PM me if you want anymore specifics.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I know this topic can definitely go the way of Chevy vs Ford vs GMC etc so appreciate all the insight.

Forgot to mention, I don't think that I have ever heard a bad story about the quality of a Majek. I am sure someone has one because there is one in every crowd but I know a ton of people who have them now or have ran them in the past and the quality of construction has always been their biggest praise of Majek. One of my best fishing buddies is running his grandpa's old RFL. Its a 92 model and has spent more time in 6" or less than it has in 2' and deeper. Its been well used (along with the TRP on it) and other than cosmetics it is still a good hull. It would be better looking if he didnt slide it across sand bars! Only last month did he finally tear it down for a full stringers up re-rig.

We were really close to pulling the trigger on a 25' Illusion before we got our boat now.

I’ve seen 22’ illusions run in 4 inches for extended amounts of time.

But that 25’ xtreme will not run in 10” unless you’re blowing out a prop channel in soft mud. I planted one of mine firmly on a sandbar that was about 12” deep.

Bass boat on salt, get's you to the fish quick.... and no reaction time when you're running skinny ( or kinda in those hull's) and that floating log is sitting 50 feet in front of you as you're going 60... or when you're sitting on the middle of that new sand bar that formed over the last flood.

I wish the sand bar I hit was newly formed, nope, it had been there for years, and I had it marked on my GPS's.... I was too busy flipping my itunes to find my favorite/trashiest kid rock jam on the stereo when I hit it. LOL

I’ve ran in some stupid skinny water in an rfl, just gotta learn the Majek slide if you need to turn haha. The illusions are great, even better with a trp [emoji15]

Yeah. RFLs will go stupid skinny. And for anyone that thinks their outboard powered bay boat will go skinnier....
