Most comfortable extended cab for 4 guys

Been looking at trucks lately and want a full 8' bed for hauling all my hunting stuff around, this will also fit my high rack for predator hunting. Anybody running a long bed with a double cab? This seems to be the only way to get a full 8' box in a half ton chassis with out jumping up to a F250 or 2500 for a long bed. I would prefer the ride of a half ton.

So this will be used for hunting first and for most, then occasionally hauling stuff to and from the hardware/lumber yard. It will be used to go west/north at least once a year for elk/muleys and will probably have at least 2 other dudes in the truck with me. So would a double cab from Ford, Chevy, or Tundra be comfortable for a 12+ hr drive? Which one has the most leg room in the back? Is it realistic to expect to fit 4 guys and guns in the back of a double cab for a full night of calling? Or is this a pipe dream and just need to get into the 3/4 ton trucks and be done with it?

Hmm to me Toyota’s where always uncomfortable as far as the seats go. I had a tundra and a Tacoma. You might get something with the upgraded package to be able to get some lumbar and leather.
Might check out a mega cab. But, for me a perfect hunting truck would be a power wagon, gas motor and it’s a off roading machine. Locking diffs and able to disconnect the sway bar. I’m hunting out of a 1 ton now. Rams are nice because I’m able to turn off the interior lights and exterior lights without the keys. It was annoying with my Tacoma getting out to do a stand and having to wait for the lights to go off.

I believe ford offers a 6’ bed in a 4 door option in the f150.

Actually I certain of it, saltwaterslick has one.

Sorry read that wrong you want a 8’ bed.

I wouldn't mind a dodge but wanting a 1/2 ton with an 8' bed that will fit 4 people minimum.

I am not aware of any that do this in a half ton. Most would have a 6.5’ bed and that’s the long axle.

I feel like the only long bed half ton's I see are single cabs.

I have a long bed, crew cab Tundra.
I'm 6'2" and have ridden in my backseats a few times.
Never longer than 5 or 6 hrs though.
I have plenty of room, but plenty of room is subjective.
While I do fit, you are sitting upright with your legs straight down.
Not much room to extend your legs, or slouch down in the seat.
12 hrs might be a stretch unless the guys in the back are short.
My dad is about 5'10" and he has no problems in the back.

Toyota used to sell a Tundra Double Cab with an 8’ bed. Don’t know if they still do.

Haven’t seen one. I’d be interested if they did. These 5.5’ beds are lame.

Find you a fleet guy at a Yota house. Mine is just the "grade" model cuz I'm out on all the fancies that I don't need or want to pay for. My 2010 tundra is a dbl cab 4x4 with the 8' bed and 4 of us go to South Dakota pheasant hunting every year in it. Like MH said, not gonna stretch out in it but not miserable either. Put the camper shell on her and 4 guys, 2 dogs and gear make it just fine. Don't know what's offered now but I'd buy another one.

To my knowledge they still do.
If I ever bought a half ton, it would be the Tundra double cab with 8’ bed.

Just looked it up, it’s still available

You must have a crewmax. Double cab comes with 6.5 or 8.1.

Chevy sells a 8' bed in a crew cab. Think you have to order it. Friend of mine has one.

F 150 s has the most room in the back seat.

Ford Chevy and Toyota all make what I am looking for just curious how comfortable the back seats are in each in an extended or double cab
