I sure would call them and make them verify they will send the original knife back and not just replace it with a new one made from chinese steel. If your knife is really old it is likely made from 1095 high carbon steel and is a much better blade than any of the new stainless junk.

Ive got 4-5 of my grandpas old daily carry case pocket knives. Hed carry each for 3-4 years then replace and put the old away. Theyve all got some serious wear on them from his use. Thats parts of their sentimental value to me. I sharpened them, and stuck them away to gvie to my boy!

I have my FIL Buck 110 and would like to have the same thing done to it. Any leads would be great.

Buck does a "spa" treatment on their knives when you send to them. They charge almost nothing for it ($6.50 I think). They come back like new. It would be great if Case would help. I'd reach out to them first.

I've done a few myself. Post a pic and I'll see what I can help with. Here are some links from others I've toyed with as well as a buck spa treatment for reference:

After talking to case I think I would rather find someone local that I can trust. This knife is to sentimental to get lost in a big factory. With the little research of done I haven't found another like it. Im guessing its from the 40s to 60s. Hard to tell I wasn't given much info on it. My grandfather past when I was about 7 and my mom just gave me the knife and she has no info on it.

I personally would not trust sending them a Harlom knife till I confirmed that I could get it back

Sounds like a really cool knife. I would not send it to anyone that I didn't have 100% confidence in. Better to leave it in the condition it's in right now, than to lose it, or have someone ruin it.

Yeah that's why I decided against sending it to case. Was hoping I could find a good ol boy on here I can trust and send it to.
