While your feather work is well done, ......maybe the tail could have been spread more..... and it displays well...... the pose is not correct.
Not sure if he is jumping off the water, setting or flying by??? Study reference photos. Ducks Unlimitted magazines are a good sorce and www.zuropak.com has some really nice photos, not many flyers though.
Keep up the good work and have some fun.

I got the pose from a refrence photo from duckhunter.net. They have a lot of pictures to pick from. I did spread out the tail feathers last night while I was making a few minor adjustments.

Oneshot, did you use an instructional video or kit?
I shoot a lot of ducks and would like to learn to mount them and whatever you used looks like it worked!

I mounted my first bird at a 4-H taxidermy camp. After that I mounted a bird with a local taxidermist. Other than that, its been nothing but practice. I have been mounting birds for about 3 years now.

Hey Man, where’d you buy the taxidermy stuff at?
I mounted a quail a few years back at a 4-H camp; it was a Feathered Forces brigade. Anyways the mount looks really good, how many have you done?…
