One of the contact springs broke on mine and I bought the Reaktor. It can be switched from 6-12 volt, comes with all sorts of different cables, has its own battery pack and a mount. Been running this one for 5 months now with no problems.
Probably not as good as some on here have but I have no complaints. I have another running a red light set up on a feeder and it seems to be fine.

Using an external may be your easiest solution. Spartan may also be able to get you the spring plate if you call them. Put 4 batteries in the 2 far left upper and lower battery slots. Camera should come on.
