Some days I hate my job

I am a Family Nurse Practitioner. A good friend of mine came to me 6weeks ago and I diagnosed him with Melanoma. He is 49. I put him on hospice today. Spend time with your loved ones. You never know.

ER RN here....I feel your pain brother. Been the bearer of bad news more times than I can recall.

Agreed....life can take strange and traumatic turns sometimes. Never leave home or go to bed mad. Always spend those extra few seconds for another hug with the kids and kisses goodbye. Choose the healthy option when you can. Life is too short and unpredictable.

I’m sorry about your friend....prayers sent.

That's a tough one....Prayers up for your friend. Don't hate your job, just an unfortunate circumstance. You're making a difference in a lot of people's lives. There's a lot of folks stuck in dead in jobs that truly hate there jobs and feel trapped.

Yep. That's a tough one. My wife is an internal medicine doc. It's rough on her when she has to break the bad news to someone.

Our local doc moved out of town. Said he hated seeing his friends come in. The straw that broke the camels back was when a guy tried to commit suicide. Sucks for us being on the fire department too when we are called in to situations like this with people we know and consider friends.

Keep your head up and good luck.

I get ya man. I’m a fire medic and don’t work anywhere close to where I grew up or where any of my friends live. Nothing worse than working a CPR on someone you know.

Thing is we are all dying. Everyday we are all one day closer to death...to our last day here on earth. Some find out when that time will come and some do not know until it happens. The Bible tells us that we are not promised tomorrow.
The most important thing is to know where you are going on that day.
I pray that all of you make that one decision that takes the sting out of death, to choose life eternal through Christ and Christ alone.

Agreed - started a new job not long ago. I was really contemplating skipping an annual fishing trip with a buddy whose more like my brother. I made the right choice and got to meet his newly born son. I can always find another job but meeting my nephew was high priority - life is short even when your blessed with good health.
