Tree Fungus Issue

Found this today while (finally) taking down the Christmas lights. Little tree in my yard has a nice size hole in the base with fungus growing in it.

Anyone know what this is or how to treat it?

That very thing killed every tree behind my house.

I don’t know how to treat it or what it is. But I’ll be following this . I hope someone chimes in on what it is & proper treatment.

Besides cut it down & burn it.

Is that a pancake fungus?
