Let’s See Your Custom FireWood Racks!!

Building a new house, even though there’s little reason for indoor fireplaces in Texas, we love to use ours.

Our new home has one outside on the patio and in our “great room” inside.

I have wood storage right and left of outdoor fireplace but enough for about a 1/6th if a cord total.

I have a buddy who’s an amazing fabricators and welder. He’s gonna build me a wood rack for that’ll hold half a cord.

Who’s had one made or has made on themselves?

Maybe double the base as the one in pics below with expanded metal as the base?

Please post your ideas and pics.

I am NOT really fond of the style like this pic below because I want the base width enough to be free standing and still look neat/clean.

Basically without it having a wall or shed
behind it for it not to let wood fall off the back.

    Let’s see them!!

    Dang! That’s fancy!

No help but looking for info as well. Not for. Fire place but just to keep from having scrap wood on the floor.

Mine is certainly “custom”, but I don’t think it’s the kind you’re after.

I do have a small, indoor rack welded up outta angle iron that sits beside our stove. We have a fireplace but rarely light it. Have a blower near the stove that pulls heat to other end of house, so we use that.

You could probably make a long rack out of scrap angle iron, etc. on the cheap.

I built this one for Buckshot-73 for his smoker/grill/fire-pit, as a gift to him. Can be picked up with a set of forks and moved if needed.

If you weld one up or whatever just make the base is high enough off the floor that you can sweep under it. The first one I ever built I didn’t do this and the bark and trash collects under there, drives me crazy

Been trying to decide on a solution as well. Really liking that one of Buckshots.

If anyone wants a custom on built I can design, cut, and weld or bolt together.

Built this about 5 years ago. It’s all wood instead of metal however.

With the mild temps we have here I just can’t justify having a bunch of stacked wood cut and split as it won’t be used. I have thousands of trees around my home to get wood from on demand. If I need some I’ll cut some up. Since getting a sawmill I have plenty of excellent air dried scraps to choose from.Click image for larger version
