    Get woke, go broke: Nikon

will no longer manufacture or sell rifle scopes.

The company will continue its binocular, rangefinder, and spotting scope lines, but it’s abandoning the riflescope market

Lots of coverage of this from both gun pages and camera pages, might actually be true?

Old news, they are doing it because it hasn't been a major segment of their business, not because they hate the 2A

I like how all the comments stating they were doing it because they hate guns were from competitors and the one "anonymous" guy

Looks to be true. Will still produce spotting scopes, binoculars and range finders supposedly.

              this is old news...
I went to their website and their imagery and copy doesn't align with the supposed distance they want culturally from "blood sports."
Every shot on the "Hunting and Shooting" section of their website is a very obvious hunting scenario.

same prices as always currently-- retailers know demand is probably going to go up with this news. What's the incentive to cut prices?
I could see a scenario where prices go up.

I am ok with it, most of their stuff is junk made in the Philippines, I swore off them years ago after 3 bad scopes.

cut prices to clear inventory for newer stuff, other brands. Retailers won't raise prices on shelf items.

This isn't a typical merch cycle-- you cut prices on stale inventory. This news will push demand... just like the post I quoted originally. If demand is up no reason to cut prices.

But some unnamed guy who works for an unnamed optics company said they were anti hunting!!

No one would ever spread false information about a competitor.

I know when I want to know what's up with Ford Motors I go find the nearest Chevy rep and ask them
