    I need a duck gumbo recipe please

    Anybody got a favorite duck gumbo recipe? Yes wild duck, and no I won't throw the duck out and eat a wood plank or whatever. LOL

    Last one we tried was from Ducks Unlimited and we didn't care for it too much. I'm trying to get away from just bacon wrapping everything and grilling, also saved all the legs/thighs and gumbo is the best I can think to utilize them.

    Not sure if they have one for duck or not, but check out www.cajun-recipes.com. They have over 4500 real cajun recipes. Everyone I've tried from there turned out good.

            Google Prejean’s smoked duck and andouille sausage gumbo.

            You’ll find several recipes online, print and compare them

                Well hell....I did a search because I had seen them before and linked all of them. I guess the link only works for me under my log-in.

                        Well looks like your lucky day. Had to go back into the kitchen and let the dog out. Heres some amazing ones. Just swap the meat in the recipe with ducks. Also through in a few bonus favorites.

                        Can't find these on the interwebz.

                            Here's one from our cookbook at Lake Fork Lodge.

                            I've tweaked it since this was publish and I don't mind saying that my duck gumbo is blue ribbon.

                            I learned the basics from a lady in Lafayette. She cooked it one night and I asked for the recipe. She said "Oh honey, ain't no recipe. You gotta cook the duck til the duck give up". All in a cajun accent.

                              I’ve got one in the recipe section that’s the best I’ve had. I’ve got 45 ducks soaking right now to cook a huge one this weekend
