Colorado Elk Hunt

I am in the early process of planning a Colorado elk hunt. The main purpose of the hunt would be to get my father a bull elk (of any size). I know elk hunting is hard, but I would prefer somewhere were the chance of success would be pretty high, as it may be the only elk hunt he ever goes on. We have been building points and will probably have 4-5 by the time we wanted to go.

I am kind of thinking maybe a private ranch where you still have to draw a tag? Or maybe an outfitter on public land that is highly recommended?

Does anyone have any recommendations on a place/outfitter in Colorado that fits this bill?

Choose a unit/season with either sex tag. Even the good units have 2 or 3 times as many cows as bulls.

A lot of ranches will draw landowner tags also.

If you go the Outfitter route, make sure they have access to a lot of ground. Dad and I learned first hand this past season that Elk move a lot, and we wish that we had chosen an Outfitter with access to more acreage.
