Best barded wire for the $

I have about 675 yards of fence to replace that can no longer just be patched together. What's the best wire for the $?

    This is a cattle fence.

personally I have always just run to Home Depot and picked up their barbed wire. I believe it is like 1300ft roll for like $45. to me barbed wire is barbed wire...... as long as it works and keep stock inside the fence then I like it.

you could try field fence and then 1 or 2 strands of barbed wire on the top. not sure which route would be cheaper

Even though it's OK, this is true.

          Red brand also.

That gaucho wire is the devil. It will eat you alive and the price you save is not worth it. I raise cattle for a living and have used that crap before but I wouldn’t use it again if you gave it to me. That’s My opinion.

                fencing

I would recommend 12-1/2 ga barbed wire instead of the 15 also. Red brand or OK are no doubt the better brands. Depends on what you are wanting to do, the Tight-lok or Sheffield field fence are both good.

And mine. And almost everyone I know that’s ever had to take any of it down.

This is what I'm hearing as well. That it's really not worth getting this brand.

It’s not the brand it’s the barb style 4 point and tinsel strength/ stiffness , over 2 point low carbon
Most manufacturers make gaucho (4pt high carbon)

As hard as it is to work with, I still prefer Gaucho brand. Gaucho is Class 3 galvanized which means it will last longer, unless you buy Class 3 in the other brands which is harder to find and more $$$. Most brands are Class 1 galvanized.

Gaucho is a brand name and you can get 4pt Gaucho and 2 point Guacho.
