Anyone make pillows and such from hides??

My wife would like to try her hand at making pillows, outlining picture frames and photo albums and such with the left over hides that I have from my animals.

Anyone here do this, or have a website that may have a "how to" type instruction page

Landrover, he is only 52 inches. The next morning I had a 60 inch walk in and beg me to shoot him at 12 yards........However, there was this voice in my ear telling me.......NO!!!! you already have 2 Kudu!...Did I mention the source of the voice was sitting beside me and threatening me with my life if I even reached for my bow???

That is a fine Kudu!! And the answer to your question is yes, my mother makes the same type of items that you are talking about. Her name is Daria Emmel and she and my father run the Longhorn Tannery in Weimar, Tx. The phone # is 979-725-8891.

Huntin Addict, Do you think she would be willing to share her knowledge? I don't think my wife would hurt her business any, she is mostly wanting to make this for personal use.

I don't think she will mind, heck mom might learn something from your wife. I'd say just give her a call and see what she says. Besides if she gets mad she'll just get mad at me for telling ya. LOL

I know Cull had some real nice axis pillows made around Austin somewhere they turned out very fine.

Unfotunately, the company I used went out of business or moved soon after mine were made.

I would like to do that also. I have three axis hides coming back and we want some throw pillows made out of them. If you find out anything PM me, I would like to know how do do it also.
