    2016 Ram DEF

Hypothetically speaking if I had work done to my 16 Ram 2500 and I now have my DEF exhaust removed...where in dfw can I sell it?

I would hold on to it. I betting soon they will start looking for that stuff and your gonna wish you kept it.

Def is the exhaust fluid, your probably talking about the dpf filter. Usually buyers in each city are found on Craigslist. 400-1000 seems to be the going rate depending on make and year and all that. Some people choose to keep them just in case you ever need to trade in, dealers won’t touch it if the emissions are missing. And then you end up paying twice what you sold it for just to get put back on. That being said mine fell off and someone found it and gave me some cash for it haha

I’ve traded in two emission free trucks with no fuss and got top dollar

Not saying it’s not possible. But technically illegal for a dealer to sell one without emissions, so they probably ate the cost to reinstall it if they kept it and resold it. But def the factor is there and would say it’s a 50/50 chance your gonna get the hassle of it not being on. That said I sold mine and not really worried about it when the time comes. CL is where I sold mine in Houston. Would start there and maybe Facebook market place or fb classified group for your truck sometimes those dudes place ads on there. Like I’ll be in this city buying for these dates. Dude that bought mine had probably 50 in his truck when he got mine for 700

Question?? Do they not check for these when they do your yearly inspections?

Diesel trucks do not have to pass an emission test as part of the annual inspection.

I know a guy who took his to the scrap yard and got ~$50 for his. Apparently there is a disposal fee for the DPF, but the cat makes up for it. Either way, it's not sitting in his garage or along side his house anymore.
