    TV help

    What could cause my tv to turn itself on and off ? Sony about 15 years old or so. Thanks !

    Try directly plugged into wall outlet if in surge protector

    or stop sitting on remote

    or you have ghosts

            Have you added another tv in the house? Or universal remote? I had a remote at one time that would work multiple tv’s if it was in range.

                My old Sony did that when the lamp started to go out. There is a way to test and see how many hours are on the lamp. A quick Google search with model number should tell you how. Also swapping lamps is easy too.

                    Maybe another remote interfering..and or its remote goin nutz..Get it on and remove battery out of your remote, see if it stays on....Could TV be overheating DUST ,lack of ventilation....Just kicking out ideas

                        Thanks, I’m calling the store we bought it from this morning since I know squat about this stuff, that sounds reasonable though since it’s 13 years old.

                        I’m gonna try that because lately the remote has been cranky about changing channels properly.
