Good luck on the track. Is this for a youth hunter?
      Where is this at?

Stopped after finding some pooled blood. Backed out. Going back in a bit with dog.

That’s a good sign, dog should make quick work of it, we are rooting for y’all. Hope to see pics soon.

Was a good track until we got to the river. We picked up the trail again after a while on the other side but to no avail. I'm not sure what happened. I just knew my son hammered that buck...big wallop, mule kick, struggling to run to the field edge, tail down and flickering (like about to do the death dance), good blood, etc. Baffled!

Keep an eye out for buzzards, maybe can recover the antlers

Unfortunately, this is his first "lost" deer and best buck to date. But, we talked at length and I feel he recognizes it as a learning lesson about the many aspects of hunting...the highs, the lows, long hours, learning about tracking, good shot placement (not to say he didn't make a good shot), friends helping friends, loooonnnnng days in the woods lol, etc...
