    Where to put my feeder

So I've decided to put up a feed pen. My only problem is where to do it. Should I put it up in the food plot or move more in to the woods? What has worked best for yall?

Not sure of your complete set up so it's hard to say. I prefer as much cover around my feeder as possible. But I strictly bow hunt it so visibility from a long way off is not a problem. Not sure about the size of your food plot but maybe somewhere in a transition area close to it so u can catch them in between.

What are your prodominant winds. Ours are usually SSE or NNW. Since feeder pens are usually some what permanent I have mine set up either east or west. I can usually hunt them 95% of the time. I do have another one in a great location I can only hunt on a NW wind. These are bow set ups. If your looking for a rifle set up I wouldn't worry about it. Just put it where you want the deer to be.

If you put your pen in the food plot you wont be able to work the plot without having to move everything. Like MuddyBud said...put it where you want the deer. Mainly consider...their approach and your approach with predominant WT season winds...dont cross approach paths.
