Thanks..... any other tips, tactics or warnings? we want to toss soft plastics using med-light spin gear
No kayaks or anything, just driving in?
The bad news is that tons of folks like to drive in and tons of folks like to go play in the mud holes down there. The road behind the dunes use to be really good. Now it is really rough and full of big mudholes where kids go play and wallow them out. Do not drive through water. Just don't. You may ease off in one of those mud holes and it might be wallowed out waist deep. Keep in mind as you explore down there that alot of that dry land is only a shell of dried sand with black goo under it. If it looks sketchy it probably is. Break through the crust and you are in for some work.
If you are good with google earth you can pick out some good marsh that you can access by truck where you can catch redfish and flounder. Throw paddletails on light jigheads and small 1/8-1/4 oz spoons. The wading may be soft and mucky but there will be redfish and flounder around.
