Hog panels for protein feeder

After last year dealing with the pigs hanging out around the protein feeder I decided to build some panels...the area that where this feeder is at is very rocky. So I came across a guy who had 6 panels for his girls show sheep. He doesn't use them any longer so he gave them to me. Yesterday I built 4 more to make the pen big enough.

Those are really nice. lifetime panels ! And portable.

We built three Pens on rocky ground recently on a friends ranch
Wired hog panels together into a round pen
Then drove posts with a rented pneumatic driver
Couple hours each pen with three/4 of us.
But those posts are permanent.

I did that on another feeder pen last year but it was sandy soil on that side of the ranch.i didn't want to go through that much effort with this pen in rocky soil.

Went to the ranch this past weekend to check on things and set the hog panels up around one of the protein feeders. Panels went together perfectly and easily.

Can you get away with only one middle support on the 16' panel or do you really need two ?

Panels are 12 foot. And yes one support is all that's needed. The ones with two supports were panels I got from someone for his sheep. I went 12 instead of 16 for lack of wasted material. Square tubing comes in 24 ft length. Hog panels are 16 but every 3rd panel built you have enough hog panel to fab another 12 ft panel..if that makes any sense?

I have these as well as some 16' homemade ones with 1" square tubing. Both are great and easy to use and I never have to drive a T post.
