Looking for info on fishing kayaks. New at kayak fishing but looks like something I would like to try. I would most likely stick to river fishing. I was told best to stay with 10 footer. Any info would be helpfull thanks in advance. I should also say I am no longer a kid so if that matters in what I get let me know thanks.

I’ve been kayak fishing for over 12 years now as to how often , we’ll I kayaked over 340 miles on last year’s total. I have had 6 kayaks over the years , my personal advice would be nothing smaller than 12 foot . Reason being with a 10 footer you will close to hitting the kayak weight capacity after you and your gear are loaded . Now let’s say you catch a few cats and one of them is a big one . You will have a heck of time trying to keep that all balanced. Another thing to think about it the tracking 10 foot kayaks suck when it comes to tracking . This would be a long winded write up , if you wish you can PM me your number and I’ll call you so we can talk.

Put me in the 12' minimum category. A buddy of mine is getting a 10' yet he's always rented 12' or better. I've told him he's not going to be happy.
Def go try some out. There are so many kayaks on the market now that’s it’s impossible to take one recommendation. Kinda like bows
