    Youth season clarification

Having hunted MLD property for so long, I haven’t really paid much attention to the “youth season” rules and regs. Can someone please break it down for me? I’m in McLennan county. For the remainder of the state, the bag, tag and permit requirements are the same as for the first two days of the general season in the county
For example, what does this mean, “ For the remainder of the state, the bag, tag and permit requirements are the same as for the first two days of the general season in the county”
    TIA!

Whatever is legal in your county on opening weekend of general season is legal during youth season

I looked at that and wondered too. That extra week at the end of the season will hopefully be enough for my daughter to get her first buck. Schedules haven’t worked out too good for us this year.

We’ve hunter hard, around sports and school, but been a crazy year. Hopefully the extra will help because it seems like the deer are slowly starting to move back in.

It’s pretty awesome that texas parks and wildlife established the late season south zone special youth season that’s exactly the same as the last two weeks of general season.

Thanks government. Otherwise my kids could have only shot deer like every other human being without the designation.

General south zone ends on Jan 19th

Special youth is from Jan 6-19th

What am I missing that makes this a special youth only season?

In the North Zone, General season ends on the 6th. Youth only can , explained by TPWD https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/o...pes/youth-only, hunt through the 19th.
