I've been to Tyler state park a few times. Usually toss em back. Same for broken bow. I don't care to eat em. Small rooster tails on 4lb line

I have taken my kid to the ponds around Waco and never had a single bite.

Power bait, little rooster tails, corn, bobber, no bobber, weight, no weight.

I am at the point I want to lob a grenade in the pond just to see if there is actually 1000 fish in there. I don't see how you can't just foul hook them if there is that many stacked in a pond less than a 1/4 acre!

Sir are you wiggling your colorful toe nails in the water as an attractant?

Try to hit all the ones within an hour of me that get stocked during the week during deer season. After deer season I try to hit up the Guad at least a few times.

I'm the same way. It'd be easier for me to tackle a Bigfoot then catch one of those fish. They are my nemesis.

Yea, I used to back in the 90s, when I first moved to New Braunfels area. I tried all of the lures we used to catch trout in Wyoming with, never caught a single trout, but I did catch the only small mouth bass I have ever caught, it was pretty good sized smallmouth more so considering I caught it out of a shallow area of the river.
I heard you should fish just below the dam, after they release them, then use canned corn or cheese. I tried that after many unsuccessful trips with lures. I caught a lot of small catfish on the corn, don't think I caught a single fish with the cheese. After about five years of trying, I gave up on the trout. I got pretty good at catching largemouth and Guadalupe bass and perch in the river. I never saw anyone pull a trout out of the water.

I at least feel better now that i know I'm not alone in the struggle.

For those who say they cant catchbthem, here is a trick for ya.
Put 2 drops or red food coloring in your corn and a sprinkle of garlic salt. The pellets a lot of hatcheries use is a pinkish color. And dyeing the corn works like a charm.

Also, if there are a lot of bass, catfish and turtles in the ponds they stock, those trout are just feed for them. That makes it tougher for sure.

Sounds good. I just bought them a couple new ultra lite rigs for Christmas.
