What's considered a lot of money in a pelt?

Your cats are not worth near as much but that's a pretty one.
We can get $250 for a so so cat up here but good ones will bring in excess of $350 on a bad year up here.
Here's a couple we took last winter with different patterns. The small cat was only worth about $150 so we kept it and had it tanned.
The belly spots are where the money is, nice white fur with lots of black spots brings the big money.
Our cats can bring in excess of $1,000 on great years, our trapping mentor made $1,200 on his cats when he sent them to Canada for the auction.
