Customer killed this bear in NM and wanted a rug made out of it. The first taxi he took him to only tanned the hide and gave it back even after my customer told him he wanted the head mounted for the rug. It looked like roadkill.
I picked it up from him and used a concept I saw on a taxi page. He immediately liked the idea opposed to a rug. It was made to look like an old school, homemade frame pack used to haul him out of the mountains.
Thought it turned out very well. This was my first black bear mount.
