I use Dewalt 20v at work and home. They work great and have a decent life.

I went milwaukee. I started with the m12 and now have added some m18. Man they have some quality tools. Ryobi has a much larger selection over dewalt. Just something to think about. I thought many times, i will never use this tool. Then the situation always presents itself.
Yes brushless makes all the difference. At least to me. Extra power on a small 12volt platform with longer battery life. I like the light weight tools.

I have probably 20-30 milwaukee M18 tools so i am kinda bias. But whichever way you decide i can tell you this spend the extra and go brushless.
I have just about phased out or burned up all of my old milwaukee M18 tools and have went to the FUEL line which is brushless. Big difference in quality and durability. I already have several saws and impacts that have lasted twice as long as the brushed motored ones.

Well, after further reviewing You Tube videos where they tested the Dewalt brushless vs. brushed tools I have decided to go with the Dewalt XR 20 volt brushless tools. I truly believe that the Dewalt Brushless XR line of tools are superior to their brushed tools, plus the batteries last longer. I even looked at buying individual tools that I really wanted but could not even come close to a combo package price. I will admit that it is really confusing when you try to compare prices vs., brushless or brushes, combo package or single tools, XR line or not, Lowes vs Home Depot vs Amazon and then the batteries and chargers are a whole other issue. I chose this package @ Home Depot to have the best deal and price because you got a free Dewalt 1/2 inch ZR brushless midsized impact. It ended up being more than I wanted to spend, but like the old saying..... Buy Once, Cry Once.
