it dont matter if you use pipe or if you do wood - hammering them in is gonna take some detail work after the fact.

We have fence that we built 30 yrs ago similar to what Southtx posted, and it looks like the day we installed it. Heck, I have pipe sitting in a pipe rack that has been there for a loooong time, and it just has surface rust. So yes, it will last unpainted.
BTW.....thats a wierd looking pipe fence Kbar. I think your contractor screwed you.

, 2 7/8 or 3/8 being highly magnetized, makes running a bead fun.
Most 4” or bigger is line pipe, not drill steam
