    Bucks running does away

Just touched base with our outfitter out in Val Verde. Said the bucks are keeping a lot of the does run away from the feeders. Just curious if anyone else experiences this. Why do yall think this is?

Yes, after the rut the bucks take over and any doe that shows up they go to check her out to see if she is in estrous. doe get tired of it and just wait coming or wait for bucks to leave.

Bucks know they can find does at the feeders, bucks aren't trying to keep does from eating necessarily, it's just a convenient spot for tutting bucks to ambush does.

I have had 6-9 does at my feeders everyday morning and evening for 3 months straight. This past week I have had zero deer period. Do not know if that is this reason or the acorns keeping them in the woods.

            Not feeders but acorns/hand corn.

Makes sense. Just gonna make it a little harder for 9 of us to kill our does. 2 years ago the same ranch we had this issue. We had to corn roads and get our does that way

Bucks run my does off everyday. It's harder to shoot a doe than it is a buck. I have found shooting the does at the beginning of Archery season is easier before all the rut craziness starts up

I'd rather shoot them from a blind instead of riding around corning roads. But gotta do what we can with 9 hunters and 3 days

Thanks. We've got 4 management bucks, 5 culls, and 9 does to try and take
