    Help needed

Yesterday my husband and I rescued a little button buck from a fence. His back hips is broken/dislocated and the way he was hung up cut off his foot. I contacted the GW here in Bosque County and am awaiting for someone to pick him up to get him to the rehabber 45 minutes away. Until then I have been keeping him comfortable. But my question is, what can I give him for pain? I have got the bleeding stopped and I have been feeding him by hand since we rescued him.

Ive lived in the country all my life, Id have shot him to end suffering. That said, yall probably done good to save him. Without a foot, life will be hard on him unless he lives in a fence with someone helping. Old school GW would show up and shoot him...

I give my dog Rimadyl 50-100mg. Don't imagine it'd be any different for a deer....unless it kills it and then I was probably wrong.

The foot won’t be the problem, I’ve seen animals make it fine three legged. The hips might be another matter though. You did right to call the GW and give the rehabbers a chance to save him. A bullet is the final answer, can’t go back from that.
