I have hunted the Cheyenne Bottoms and Flint Hill Wildlife area extensively over the years and both are fun places to hunt. Bottoms for the numbers. Flint Hills for the scenery. Much less pressure on the weekdays.

No, we did not bring them on this trip. Hope we don't regret that decision. Did some scouting today at the first lake. Saw thousands of birds bad thing is they are on the North side of the lake that is Wildlife area which is closed to hunting right now. First morning will be a test. Hope it works out.

I skipped some posts so this may have already been said. We hunted Neosho before Thanksgiving. Lots of birds. Lots of educated birds. We had kayaks and the place was pretty big to scout without a boat. Most of the shooting we heard was on geese over fields.

Cheyenne Bottoms was flooded in the spring and the seed did not germinate. I would stick to the eastern side of the state. It seems there was more food grown in the flooded WMAs.

            Good luck!

It was slow!! Wind died this morning, some weather blew in, everything we scouted yesterday and planned for today was completely different. But hey thats why its called hunting right??? We are making some adjustments so we will see. Got some golden eyes, common m., hooded m., and some green heads. So still beats any day at work.

Leaving Glen Elder. Quite a few birds but they know where to stay safe! The north side of the lake is wildlife refuge and they know it. You can go all over the lake and see very low numbers. Go to the north side and thousands camped up. We are making a move to the Great Bend area. Hopefully it works out.

Is the front just now blowing through or has it already come and gone? Hopefully y'all get a good push of birds.

Good for you! There will be new birds on the prowl looking for a home/shelter!
