I'll 2nd, 3rd...12th the Joe Picket series by CJ Box. I'm just starting the last book in the series; it's a good one to binge read (~20 books). I got lucky that my library had all the books, so I didn't have to buy any, but had to get on the wait list pretty often (it's a popular series).

Another one that I read was the William R. Forstchen "After" series (3 books), which is a story about what happens when an EMP goes off in the US. It was really good and kinda eye opening.

Anything Elmore Leonard is gold. Just finished my life behind the spiral a Biography of Steve Young, was very cool. Death in the long grass is great, and The Maneaters of Tsavo is intense.

If looking for non-fiction, try The Rescue of Streetcar 304.

It is about a Navy pilot shot down over Laos on his first mission. In some ways it is similar to Lone Survivor and similar books but it doesn’t take up half the book setting it up (no need to read about SEAL or pilot training). It jumps fairly quickly into the action with the mission, the shoot down and the efforts to rescue him.

I have read many books in my life in fiction and non-fiction. Some were great books. There are only a couple that I literally couldn’t put down and this was one of them.

As a side note, it might be bad for yoir blood pressure......

The Junction Boys. About when bear Bryant coached at A&M and had training camp in Junction. I don't like to read at all, but I loved this one.
