He was one of my favorite deer I saw. You know I like the (not normal) Deer. Heck of a deer and great shot. I bet that broadhead did damage when arrow hit tree. It looked like it moved a foot from back to front so i know it was cutting him up inside. Awesome video.

When I found the broken arrow, I was real nervous because I only had 2” of arrow and BH broken off. Never found a drop of blood but I stumbled across him and the broadhead was under the skin right behind the off shoulder. You can see the discoloration where the skin was lifted up.

What deer did yall catch for DMP pen? Is there another thread on that?

We elected to use the big 12 from last year.....he is a big 7x7 this year. He was too pretty to not use one more time!

Glad you like the post.

DMP is Deer Management Pen or Program. You can capture 20 does and whatever buck you choose from your property and place in a minimum 5 acre certified DMP pen. He will then breed all 20 as opposed to just a few out on the ranch.

That’s quite an operation. Did the boy from New Orleans have to buy an out of state license or can he just use an MLD tag?

Out of state license but it’s cheap for youth hunters
