Left Dow Freeport plant A last year. Money wasn’t worth never having time with the family. Took a Boiler Plant Operator job with the federal gov. Best decision I ever made. Plant I was at shut down right after I left, and to be honest, Dow looks like it is headed downhill quick.

I Hit 22 years at the Cogen a few weeks ago, now quite a process operator- but I ain't jealous.

Talon7- Look up NAES and try to navigate your way into their job portal. they should be posting an op job opening soon once the plandemic is over. (Look for Channelview plant)

I can assure you, you'll be amazed at our "workload".

I've been 4 on 4 off for 25 years now (+3 at chem plant) - I wouldn't know any other way (but do Love it).

Not an operator, but a degreed chemist. Been at my current job of Senior R&D Analytical Chemist for two year and before that 16 years laboratory supervisor for Lummus Technology research (18 years total). Was lab supervisor at other jobs for another 12 years for a total of 30 years.

Its no joke. When I came off the road from oilfield it was a HUGE adjustment for me and my wife, like nearly divorced over it. Hell we had never lived together really, I just shacked up in a house I paid for lol
