Has someone broken the contract you signed?? If they are paying you the agreed upon price per ton then I don’t see the problem. I agree that it’s less than you thought, but as far as what was agreed to in the terms of the contract I don’t see any legal recourse.

Only thing I see is to dispute the weight. Was it a certified scale?

Maybe you got wait-listed at SFA or are bitter because you've never gotten to personally see a black panther. I bet a good therapist could help you deal with whatever it is that eats you up about East Texas and its fine folks.
Ok, that’s funny. I’m not sure why East texas gets a bad wrap. I don’t hunt there or live there. I just base it off the bad experiences of others.

I was just jacking with you and trying to be funny. However, like all stereotypes, there is some truth there or the stereotype wouldn't exist.

Hence the stump appraisal. To me it seems that they changed something to get the figures they wanted.

But as noted, it seems to me they grossly misrepresented (fraud) the value of the contract in order to get me to enter the contract, and she stated that the $/ton approach would "adjust the pricing in [our] favor" after previously offering $16K.

Regardless, the point of the post is to warn others to be cautious dealing with them and seeking any guidance from anyone that may have experience with timber fraud/theft.

I worked for a forestry consulting firm back in the late 70's. Every sale we made was through a bid process and all load tickets were checked.

A reputable consulting firm will make you more money in the end and protect your interest and property.

All in good fun my friend. In fact, I til my hat to the guys that hunt public land as well as the ones that have to deal with the thefts of gear and whatnot. It would be hard to stay positive
