With the full moon shining bright and clear skies last night I called up fellow TBHr and my best friend Yakndak, the plan was night Time spot and stalk using only the moon.
We got started around 8pm or so and with minutes of pulling in the gate we spot our first group of hogs make a stalk but they busted us before we had a shot. We walked a good ways and Dakota spotted a small group of devil dogs and we got one to stop, that’s when the killing began. He let the Grendel bark and had one dead male yote.
I was next up on the gun. My weapon of choice a Ruger predator in .260. We spot a large boar feeding by himself and stalk him to 150 yards where I put an anchoring neck shot on him bang flop!
We started making our way back to the Jeep when we stumbled on a sounder of 20 or so hogs am wither 50 yards it was a fast shot and Dakota shot first then I shot at a sow in full sprint shooting her in the head. We are pretty sure Dakota hit his as well just couldn’t find it.
We make it all the way to the Jeep and spit on last group of 6 and they spotted us at the same time we put a moving shot on them and Dakota smoked a nice gilt.
It was a great night over all. We hiked 7 miles and was pretty amazing we saw 4 shooting stars and had 4 confirmed kills.
