My lease is 6 hours from home. This is my third weekend in a row. And it’s hunting 120 inch hill country whitetails. That make you feel better?

Didn't see any deer during legal light. Did see a couple in the oats a few hundred yards away on my way back in.

I was walking to another pasture to check on the feeder. During my walk I walked up on several pigs. They grunted at me. I couldn't see them so I carried on.

I walked about 10 yards into the pasture and scanned with my Sightmark Wraith. Didn't see anything, not even my feeder. It wasn't where in was looking :-) I did find it closer to the corner than I remember.

I heard some grunts and squeals over my left shoulder, back in the trees. I scanned that area and didn't see anything. I walked out towards the middle of the pasture and scanned again. I saw 2 pigs walking on the other side of the fence line following it. I was tracking the first one. As he stepped out in the open gate area I squeezed off a shot. Heard click instead of boom. Slap, Rack Tap get back on target and he's behind some bushes. I watch the one come thtough the gate but I couldn't get on him solid by the time he got in the bushes.

I scan the fence line in the direction they went. Every so often I can see them, they look to be heading to the feeder. I start easing that way. Hoping to get them in the open so I can shoot both :-)

I heard some squeals and vocalizations from a different area. I turn and scan the area where I heard them. I didn't see anything. As I'mm waiting I notice the external battery on my scope is yellow. The AA batteries inside the scope was red. When I have a great idea. I bust out the Convergent Wild Hog pro app and start playing Sow Hysteria. I was like a top. Turning in a continuous circle scanning the fence line. I was worried about a sow or sows coming in all mad and exacting revenge on me. It got quiet real fast after I turned the call on. I didn't see or hear anything else so I checked on the feeder. It almost empty. I expected that. I had it throwing 20 seconds a day.

On the walk back to camp to drop my great off I have more pigs huffing at me.

I get back to camp and drop my gear off. I get the other feeder. There's something in the brush behind it. I can't see it to identity it. I can hear huffing and I think I can smell it. I've got my 38LRX with the white LED and 1911 9mm. I'm scanning the brush and trees looking for eyes. Didn't see any, however it's still making noises at me. I tell it to step out so we can settle this. It doesn't . However it doesn't make any more noise.

I change the feeder time and tap the barrel it's about 1/4 full. On the way back to camp another pig chomps his teeth at me. I stop and scan looking for it. I don't see it. I went back to camp changed out of my boots for my tennis shoes and headed home. Got here @ 1am.

          Time for bed.
I did get video of the pig in was gonna shoot. I'll look at it tomorrow and maybe upload it
