    What about this mess

What about the mess in the southern border towns ? Heard a newscast this morning about more slayings by the druglords. Some of the Mexico officials are moving to the U.S. side to flee for their lives. There was actually talk of congress passing a Bill to help counteract the drug rings. What about these 2 questions ?
    1) crime ?
    2) crime prevention ?
Why is a bill needed to capture, convict , & prosecute these a--h----?
Our judicial system needs to act upon these crimes & take necessary steps to extenguish it before it spreads any further. And the gov. wants stiffer gun laws. Sounds like we are all going to need CHL's

But let's start by getting a new Govenor.

            Stratfor (a news service) reports:

As organized crime-related violence continued throughout Mexico this past week, the country’s death toll for the first 51 days of 2009 rose above 1,000, according to tallies maintained by Mexican news outlets. While this is the earliest in a calendar year that the 1,000 mark has been reached, it represents a slightly slower pace than the final months of 2008, when the number of homicides rose from 3,000 to 4,000 in 48 days and from 4,000 to 5,000 in 42 days.

I am not sure why this is an American problem. If they come across the border, then sure. But, so long as they stay on their side of the border the Mexican government is going to have to do something themselves. We already subsidize them 11 ways to Sunday.

What did the Mexican government think was going to happen when they let this go unchecked for so long?

I have read reports of the Mexican government asking for American military help to solve the problem. I am not in favor of that at all. As well armed as the drug lords may be they are still no match for the US military.

Mexico has a terrible mess on their hands. They lived by the mordita (bribe) system so long that their military/law enforcement systems are terminally infected. They have some good intentioned reformers trying to fix it but it's too late...It worked OK while the politicians had more money than the crooks, but drugs have rewritten the rules. Now, the drug lords give the police a choice...take our money or we kill you. It's almost impossible to be an honest cop because your own people (that want the money) will whack you.

Fixing Mexico is a job for Rambo Justice. If in doubt, just kill them all and let God sort them out...

Why would you want a new Govenor? Rick Perry all about less gun laws and favors CHL's and the 2nd amendment. You must not know much about his views!

And, it is apparent that the Mexican people either don't know about it, don't care about it, or it hasn't hit them at home yet.

The solution should not come from the Mexican government, but from the Mexican people. When they've had enough they should assemble and throw the bums out - drug lords and politicians.

What are they going to do it with, pitchforks? The guns that the mass's are supposedly allowed to have are pitiful compared to what the cartels and army have.

I'm not real sure the powers that be on "our side" want to do a whole lot about it....too much money being made by the lawyers and judges thanks to drugs! That's easy money and job security! It wouldn't be that difficult to send a handful of fully loaded apache gunships over there and destroy every inch of property owned by cartel. It ain't like they don't know where they are and who they are. Whatever is missed by the apaches the snipers can clean up!!

I say 1)make marijauana legal (no I don't smoke it I am allergic), collect the taxes, and regulate it like alcahol and tobacco.

2)Make possesion of illegal Narcotics a automatic death penalty.

                            3) Make gang affiliation a automatic death penalty.

                            4) If you are a known head of an organized crime syndicate you can be shot on sight by any citizen.

Call it extreme, call it vigilante, but it is time that people quit b!tCh!ng and start taking care of thes scum bags!

Where in the H--- is Walking Tall when we need him. A few guys like that with weapons like the thugs have & we can start dwindeling down this mess.
We used to have several party / border shopping trips that we went on each year, man I miss those. Dos XX from store to store, getting hounded to by Chicklets, eating at El Ranch.
