I live on 12 acres and have a stand and a feeder on it. I dont hunt it too much tho. Most of the shooter bucks that come thru are at night. Get a few during daylight when the rut starts but I've never shot one yet. I usually have better prospects on camera at my lease that's just 10 min down the road. I usually fill my meat tags at the lease and my trophy too if I get the chance. I'll let my 8 yr old grandson shoot his first deer this year off my place. I can't wait! I can hunt pretty much everyday if I want. I feel pretty blessed.

I live on my farm and I cant imagine a more perfect thing.Vegetable Garden right outside the door. Fruit orchard right out the door. Herb garden right out the door. Awesome hunting and fishing right out the door.

The convenience of walking out the door and doing a quick tour cant be overstated.

Should I win the lottery, I'll buy a home with about 2000 acres surrounding it.

We are in the same boat but 7 hours away. Sure would be nice to be able to get there more often.

I've lived the last 22 years on 8 acres with the Corp of Engineers land around Lake Georgetown right behind me. Several TBHers have parked here and hunted back there. It's been nice but we just bought 223 acres in Burnet county and will move there when the house is finished. It's just gotten too built up around here. I mainly hunt on a lease in Menard county. The home place is where the wife hunts.

I built on our little slice. Now I watch them out the window. We might shoot one if we get hungry. But having a lease in Gillespie County, I don’t need to shoot my pets.

We plan on living on our place as soon as we get the wife retired.

ours is two hours away and I feel its a good distance. I could live there but would go broke quick i think. I'd always be building and feeding

Home in Fort Worth, ranch north of Abilene. It's self contained and while living there would be possible I'd have to travel back to Fort Worth for quality time with the family so I live here and enjoy there as much as possible.

I live in Baton Rouge 7 miles from the office and couldn’t imagine buying a few hundred acres and building a nice house on it with having to commute back to BR. The deer just aren’t very good around here so I’ll live on less than an acre and hunt Texas like I have for the last 8 or 9 years.

                              I don’t know but I’ll report back...

After 10 years of owning a hunting place 296 miles one way from the front door, we just put a contract in on a hunting (perhaps living?) place 25 minutes from town (certainly hasn’t been accepted yet). I can definitely say I wanted a place to hunt closer to home, but this one might make me change my mailing address. My wife is quite happy to have a place close to home to burn a fire and enjoy. She might be a little less happy when she figures out how much I’ll be enjoying it!

Mine is 60min gate to gate. We have 108 acres. We built a barndo and I’d move there tomorrow and be very happy, my wife not so much. She likes the big house and being in town. I still have a lease out West 5hrs away but I really enjoy having my place close to home.
