Now that's a really interesting question. Maybe the whole thing was a dream and I woke up to go look for the arrow??

              It is EAST TEXAS.

              What happened was-

Friendly local trespassing hunter stumbled across a shot doe laying in the woods. He figured his day just got easier, so he picked it up and headed back to the shed to have his wife in law and nephson clean it. While on the way back he stumbled across a nice arrow sticking straight up out of the ground, thought once again it must be his lucky day! Picked it up as well. Went home, told the kinfamily about his adventure, and went to the quickpack to get some newports and natural ice.

My son lost an arrow after a shot once, we found it a few days later, pack rat drug it back to its stick/cactus pile and had almost got it covered up with sticks. So you might check the area for rat nest!
