I had back surgery October 15th so I wasn’t going to have much time to get some meat in the freezer. The last Saturday morning before the surgery I had a perfect opportunity. She came out to give me a perfect broadside shot at 30 yards. Between a shot that was a hair high and the deer ducking I connected with a non lethal shot. Luckily we have had it on camera since to confirm it made it.
The next morning is my last chance before who knows when. With me having surgery it’s hard for me to know if I will get to bow hunt anymore the rest of the season. I was starting to think it just wasn’t meant to be. Luckily it was an awesome morning and I had as many as 10 deer out in front of me at one time. No mature bucks and most of the does had fawns. Just like it was meant to be all the deer finally moved on and a single doe without any babies came out as calm as she could be and gave me the perfect chance to atleast put a little meat in the freezer for the year. The rage did its job and she made it about 50 yard before she died. So it worked out after all.
