But seriously, unless you are running a large offshore type boat you'll be fine. If you have a GPS with any kind of map you should have the reefs on it to stay off of.

The birds are working a little here and there. Some days good, some days not. Some days we have had birds working but you can't hardly catch a fish under them. The reefs do have some fish on them and so do the shorelines. If your crew would wade I'd strongly consider doing that. You'll probably catch better quality fish. Drifting is very hit or miss right now. it's a transition time and alot of the fish are pulled off the deep shell and are schooled up feeding wherever the shrimp take them. You can still catch them just out drifting but the bite can be very slow. There just aren't as many fish spread out all over the regular drifting areas as there were a couple weeks ago.

I've been doing real well drifting with soft plastics lately. Both under corks and just on a jighead by themselves. Dark colors have been better for me. Plum/chart and roach have been my gotos. Drifting with 1/4 oz heads. Gulps under corks have been doing well and so have Mirrolure Little Johns. I've been using the purple/white tain little johns under corks a bunch lately and even for very novice fishermen they have been working great.

Reds have been mainly up shallow. The tides have been huge lately. We'll see if this front knocks them back a bit.

If you work birds be courteous. It's a zoo out there in October and November, don't make it worse.

Figured that was soon to happen. Another front coming in Tuesday or Wednesday.
