    Recommendations on a fatman climber

Alright guys and gals, Im thinking Id like to get a climber tree stand, but because Im not exactly what one would call skinny, Im a little leary on what is out there for climbers. Just to throw it out there, lol, im over 250lb mark, and I know most are rated for 300lbs. What I am most worried about is having something fail while I'm in the tree, and yes, I have a harness, Im mostly worried about the construction of the climber. So my question for you "Clydesdale Class" gentlemen what do you use and recommend? There is quite a few climber brands out there. For instance, CamoFire has a Muddy Stalker for a little over $100 today, is it worth it, or shall I pass and keep looking?? TIA!!

I'm at 265#'s and use Ol' Man climbers. I have the Grand Ol' Man, but it's an older model. It's comfortable, easy to set up, and lite.

Edit: If your worried about trust; either Don't use a climber, or climb a few feet off the ground and get used to your equipment before going straight up a tree. Shift, move around, settle in for a bit and get familiar with it. Things Won't be the same when it's 5 a.m./7 p,m...

I had the same concern and just purchased a Summit Titan, which I read is the largest one they make. Will be using it for the first time this weekend, so keeping fingers crossed.

I will try and do a youtube review of it, and hopefully give my thoughts. I've never been a climber due to my heft as well (275), but after seeing my buddy be so successful in the thickest of East Texas I had to make the jump.

Can or do you shoot while sitting (I understand stand placement is key here)?

Sit your Fanny down in a climber. I'm 6'2'', and hit 240. I use the ol' man grand multi vision. Rated at 400 lbs. Safety harness always, specially if you are prone to get a nap in while hunting. The thing about the old man is that you can flip it over for bowhunting.
