while never getting the shot opportunity I decided to try out a new area far from feeders and cameras and any type of stand/blind. I found a random tree and sat in the dirt from 530-815ish without seeing so much as a squirrel. Figure that I would call it a wrap and head home, stood up to stretch and light a smoke when I noticed a branch move. 1st thoughts tree rat or bird, but I could see a deer's face (hadn't noticed the headgear yet)so I contemplated taking aim or just watching till it left. (Que said headgear)then that's when it hit me- THATS A BUCK DUDE! I haven't had much luck on this lease when it comes to horns mostly filling my doe tags and a spike last season. Sooo I ranged him at 35yds, waited till he cleared a particularly thick and annoying brush line. Ranged again at 32yds, lined up scope on the raptor fx2 with quartering away and let it fly. Mr. Big (yes I named him)took that bolt all the way to the vanes ran 15yds then went down. 1st full buck for me in over 15 yrs and 1st deer during archery for me as well. Not sure on weight but he was heavy, and his spread was 13 15/16. Beyond stoked to say the least. Sorry about sideways pics
